Privacy & POPIA Protocol

Vault of Time (Pty) Ltd ("The Curator", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This protocol dictates how we collect, process, and protect your data in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) of South Africa.
1. Data Acquisition
To grant access to the Vault and verify bids, we collect the following:
- Identity Data: Full name, government-issued ID/Passport (for statutory FICA compliance).
- Contact Data: Email address, physical address.
- Financial Data: Proof of funds and transaction records associated with coordinate acquisition.
- Digital Footprint: IP address and cryptographic signatures used during the bidding protocol.
2. Purpose of Processing
Your data is strictly utilized for:
- Executing mandatory KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) checks to report to the Financial Intelligence Centre.
- Validating and securing your bids on the ledger.
- Establishing legal ownership of a coordinate.
3. The Vault's Security
We do not sell, trade, or expose your data to unauthorized third parties. Data is encrypted and stored securely. We only disclose information if legally mandated by a South African court of law or regulatory body.
4. Your Rights
Under POPIA, you retain the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request corrections to inaccurate data.
- Request the deletion of your data (subject to our legal obligation to retain FICA transaction records for a minimum of 5 years).
